Transforming the way people learn in organisations

Have you ever wondered how people really learn, whether it’s in workshops, meetings or even virtual webinars? Or maybe an easier question might be, do you know how people can limit their learning – perhaps the answer lies in endless powerpoint dumps, one way monologues, dull environments. Recent research has shown that the transfer of learning to the workplace from training is a miserly 10%, so how can training designers, trainers and HR professionals, in fact anyone involved in training others, bring their training to life?

With our expertise in human psychology, pedagogy and accelerated learning, the Lorensbergs team work with trainers to transform the results they get in their training activities. We give insights, ideas and tips that help answer these questions:

  • How can I ensure learning is created rather than passively consumed?
  • What ways can all the senses be engaged to make training memorable?
  • How can I embrace the world of virtual training so that it’s memorable and engaging too?
  • If it was possible to maximise the transfer of learning back to where it matters, the workplace, how is it done?
  • What is ‘state’ and how can I change it? How can I (and participants) become more resourceful thus helping the learning to become more ‘sticky’
  • How can I use media and methods, including Powerpoint, to bring my training to life.

Our workshops work with participants own cases, gradually applying recent research into how people learn so that real value is added immediately. For training designers we offer ‘Learning Design that Sticks’; for trainers we offer ‘Train the Trainer’ and for those working in the virtual world we offer Train the Virtual Trainer workshops.
